Watson Honors Mathematics and Science (HMS):
Many high school students seek enrichment activities in science, technology, engineering,
and mathematics (STEM) to supplement the material they are taught in school.
For such students, we offer lectures at our Research Center on Saturday mornings, on topics
in mathematics, computer science, physical sciences, and engineering.
Our lecturers are IBM mathematicians, computer scientists, scientists,
and engineers, adults who earn their living using math and science on a daily basis.
We invite local high schools to select students who can benefit from these lectures.
A sampling of topics includes the Internet, computer viruses,
nanoscience, polymer science, discrete mathematics, bioinformatics, and microelectronics.
The program also includes lab tours.
